Refunds, Returned Checks, Other School Policies

Refunds
For all Cooking Classes and One-Day Classes, there will be no refund if you are registered and do not attend.

You must cancel at the AAS or district office before class begins in order to receive a refund with a $10 deduction.

If a class is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund will be made.

All other courses are eligible for refunds for six days after the first class meeting, as long as you do not attend the second class meeting. There is a $10 service charge per course for on-time student class withdrawals. This applies for all methods of registration. If you have registered with cash, you will receive a refund check from Albany Adult School.

Online Registration Refunds
Online refunds will be made to your credit card account. If you are withdrawing from a class on time, the $10 service charge per class is the same as for other methods of registration. Please call the Albany Adult School office at 510-559-6580 to make arrangements if you want to withdraw from a class.

Returned Checks
There is a $30 service charge per check for any checks that fail to clear through your bank.

Privacy Policy
We ask that you provide your telephone number and address at registration so we can contact you with any questions or for announcements about your classes (if cancelled, for example). Albany Adult School will not use your personal information for any reason other than contacting you about classes.

Complaint Procedures
The AUSD district governing board recognizes that the district has primary responsibility for insuring that it complies with state and federal laws and regulations governing educational programs. The district shall investigate and seek to resolve complaints at the local level. The district will follow uniform complaints procedures when addressing complaints alleging unlawful discrimination or failure to comply with state or federal law in adult education program.
