(Online registration: class is in the Personal Enrichment category) Learn solving & creating crossword puzzles! The teacher is an accomplished puzzle solver & has created puzzles that have appeared in the New York Times & elsewhere. We will discuss rules of standard & specialty puzzles, create our own puzzles & be very interactive. Sudoku is not part of the program. Bring pencil and paper. (Four classes starting Sep 13)

TOEFL Preparation (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
(Online registration: class is in the Personal Enrichment category) The TOEFL Exam is globally accepted as a university admission requirement for non-native speakers of English. But preparation for this exam will give the student more than that; it will also prepare her or him to participate fully in professional, academic & social life in English. Using BARRON’s TOEFL iBT Guidebook with CD-ROM (approx. $30) students will follow a 10-week study plan that allows them to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, master academic skills, practice with model tests and take the test feeling confident. Students will form partnerships with classmates in order to make their out-of-class study hours more pleasant and productive. (For High Beginning to Advanced English learners) (Ten weeks starting Sep 15)
