In class, we will draft several "do-it-yourself" forms such as California Statutory Form Will and Advanced Directive for healthcare. Learn about guardianships for minors. Stock Market Investing is Easy & Fun! - Level 1 (Part A and Part B)
Instructor Bio (Online registration: class is in the Finances, Property and Real Estate category) IMPORTANT NOTE: Level 1 material takes ten full weeks  to cover. You MUST enroll in the Part A class first, and then take the Part B class. It is highly recommended that you complete both Part A and Part B during the same quarter so you can proceed with the Level 2 course the following quarter.

The Level 1 class is an introductory course ideal for students who are new to investing or who have limited knowledge about the financial markets. You will learn all the basic terminology and concepts that are important in investing.

Topics include: Rule of 72, IPO, stock, stock exchanges (NYSE, AMEX, NASDAQ), dividend, dividend yield, DRIP, stock split, P/E ratio, market cap, indices (Dow, Standard & Poor's 500, NASDAQ Composite), REIT, bonds (corporate bonds vs. US Treasury bonds), mutual funds, (expense ratio, 12b-1 fee, front-end load, deferred load, redemption fee, transaction fee, NTF fund), exchange traded fund (ETF), IRA, Roth IRA, 401(k), Roth 401(k), Roth Conversion, Rule of 72(t), and asset allocation.

Instructor Bio (Online registration: class is in the Finances, Property and Real Estate category) The Level 2 course is a continuation of Level 1 and covers more complex investment strategies. It is open to everyone who has successfully completed my Level 1 class or anyone who THOROUGHLY understands ALL the topics listed in the course description for Level 1.

Topics include: Closed-end funds (CEFs), HOLDRS, short selling, leveraged/inverse ETFs, more specialized ETFs, technical analysis (moving averages, stochastics, relative strength index, moving average convergence divergence, MACD histogram), and more complex trade orders (sell short limit/market, buy to cover limit/market, stop loss, trailing stop).
