| All ESL courses are free. Students DO NOT need to be Albany residents to enroll. Students from locations outside of Albany are always welcome. English as a Second Language (ESL) is a program designed to help students who do not speak English gain command of the English language. Foreign-born students are encouraged to attend these classes if they have been in the United States for several years or have just recently immigrated. Beginning, intermediate and advanced lessons help adults improve their skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing English. Classes meet at Albany Adult School, 601 San Gabriel, or at MacGregory High School, 720 Jackson Street. Students may start at any time if space permits. Most ESL classes begin Tuesday, Sep 9. This course is for ESL adults at the intermediate/advanced levels who would like to help their school-aged children learn English. You will tutor weekly at a local elementary school. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. Must attend regularly. (Ten weeks starting Sep 8)
