Deborah started teaching ESL as a volunteer with the UN in New York while she was still in college, and decided this was the career for her. After earning a Master's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, she took the leap to start her own language school in the new resort town of Cancun, Mexico. She spent 13 productive years there. Back in the US in the late 80s, Deborah worked in the West Contra Costa secondary and elementary schools for more than 10 years.
Deborah loves learning languages. She is fluent in Spanish and French, her Portuguese is not too bad, and she's picked up quite a bit of Italian and German recently. She feels it's easy and fun to learn languages through games, music, theater and art activities.
